Megan Snowe, 2016
Edition of 25
8.25 x 5.25 in, 24 pages, digital printing, black&white.
Sound piece recorded on a cassette tape, 20min

GoingDoing is a poetic compilation of quotes from various self-help and motivational speakers as well as texts I’ve written regarding life as a productive and ever-“improving” entity.
This tape is made from moments that pump up, calm down, focus, energize, revitalize and make happen, ultimately resulting in a monstrous ultra-motivational audio experience.

Megan Snowe works in a variety of mediums including installation, animation, text, sound and workshop, often collaboratively. Snowe has recently been driven by the question of how we understand, strategize and quantify our immaterial and emotional lived experiences, critiquing various social strategies and subconscious behaviors that perpetuate inhibiting social norms.
With a BA in Russian Studies & Studio Art from Oberlin College (2008) and an MFA in Time & Space Arts from the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts (2014) Snowe has exhibited throughout Europe, the US and online.

Art Vandelay is a publishing project that focuses on exploring the ideas of archive and collection, more precisely the accumulation and loss of information over time.
Each issue of the AV project is composed of a zine and a tape, both of which display the work of a single
artist.

In those works the final object functions as a means to dignify a content that was previously discarded or lost: the artist is empowered to act as their own historian and to search through their archives for older material.

AV aims at publishing emerging artists employing mediums that are generally underrepresented in print such as
performance, video, installation or sculpture.
